Alessandro Bertolotto



A native of Genoa with a degree in electrical engineering, Bertolotto began his career in 1960 as a technical standard installation system technician with Cornigliano S.p.A., to go on to Italsider S.p.A. in 1962 as Manager of the Measurement and Inspection area in the plant.

He became an executive in the Automation and Instrumentation division in 1970, then Central Plant Staff Executive from 1976 until 1979, when he was appointed Executive Manager of the Technical Services Division.

From 1985 to 1988 he worked for COGEA (Consorzio Genovese Acciaio - Genoese Steel Consortium) as Executive in charge of the Plant Services Division: electricity generation and distribution,
electrical and mechanical plant maintenance.

From 1988 through 1994 he held the position of Industrial Automation Manager for electrical installations and instrumentation in ILVA plants,  working for ILVA – General Management, and from 1994 through 1996 he sat on the Board of Directors of ITO S.p.A., concerned with the design and production of marking systems for heavy industry (steel industry) and quality control and dimensional measurement systems for hot and cold rolled rod products and coils.

He was one of the founding partners in Iso Sistemi s.r.l. and has been Chairman since 1996.

He has been on the Smartware & DataMining s.r.l. Board of Directors since 2007.

Bertolotto's experience working abroad includes projects in the USA, Japan, Germany, Russia, India, Iran, Belgium and Saudi Arabia.

In 2006 the City of Milan awarded him the prestigious “Ambrogino d’oro” prize for his contribution to the Technical and Scientific Commission in charge of controlling plans for waste-water treatment facilities for the city of Milan, specifically in the areas of electrical plants, automation and control.
